What is a teleclass?
Teleclasses are live, interactive learning programs conducted over the telephone through state-of-the-art teleconferencing bridge systems.
That means you can join a "virtual class" from the comfort of your own home or office and learn and share with people from around the world!
The sessions are discussion-based, not lecture-based. Many people find participating in teleclasses to be fun, easy and convenient.
Classes are usually an hour long and can be a single session or multiple sessions lasting four or more classes over as many weeks.
There are many benefits to learning in this way:
- no travel time
- no parking fees
- a clearer focus than many lectures
- ability to pick and choose what sessions to attend
at the last minute
- the ability to take notes on your computer
- doesn't interrupt your travel schedule
- comfort of working in your own space
How does it work?
It's easy. After you sign up for a teleclass, we will email you with special instructions and a special telephone bridge number to dial at the time of the class. You simply call the pre-assigned phone number at class time and you are automatically connected to an exciting group of people without the inconvenience, time, or expense of traveling.
How do teleclasses differ from "face-to-face" workshops and seminars?
After leading workshops, leadership development programs, coaching retreats and teleclasses for the past 12 years, I can actually say that teleclasses are a unique learning environment that allows a wider range of diverse voices to be heard than in traditional training settings. Sometimes this has to do with learning styles. Sometimes, it's more about differences in cultural orientations. In general, what I do find is that those that might be a bit quieter in a face-to-face session enjoy the interactive nature of teleclasses and the ability to share one's perspective in an inclusive environment.
The other benefit of teleclasses over traditional learning sessions is the ability to connect across time, distance and culture. How often do you have the opportunity to participate with people from all over the world at the same time? This diversity of perspectives often enriches teleclasses in a way that local programs cannot.
We also arrange teleclasses for intact work groups who are geographically dispersed, or colleagues located in different offices around the world, helping you maximizing the benefit of shared, internal knowledge and experience, at lower training costs.
